Dirty One (2014) is a unique collaborative work by French artists L’Atlas and Tanc, bringing together two distinct approaches to abstraction rooted in urban art and calligraphy.

Across the square canvas, a rigorous network of black geometric lines unfolds over a textured grey surface. The composition evokes an abstract system of signs, somewhere between writing, architecture and labyrinth, while subtle variations in the background soften the precision of the graphic structure.

The work reflects the dialogue between L’Atlas’s geometric, calligraphy-inspired vocabulary and Tanc’s exploration of gesture, rhythm and abstraction. Their collaboration transforms elements associated with writing and the urban environment into a highly structured visual language.
