Reappropriation 15 (2022) is a unique work by French artist Kurar, combining a largely monochrome landscape with sharply contrasting elements of colour.

Two industrial water towers dominate the composition, their structures interrupted by vivid red architectural forms. In the foreground, a solitary figure dressed in red and white stands within the expansive grey landscape, while a small yellow building introduces another unexpected point of colour.

Through these selective interventions, Kurar transforms an austere industrial environment into a scene that oscillates between reality and visual reconstruction. The contrast between monochrome imagery and saturated colour reflects the artist’s recurring exploration of urban transformation, human presence and contemporary society.
