Soul Wave (2024) captures a street dancer in motion, balancing on one leg as the body twists into a dynamic breaking pose.

The polished stainless-steel surface accentuates the folds of the oversized clothing while reflecting the surrounding environment, reinforcing the sculpture’s sense of movement and energy. The concealed face, a recurring element in Huang Yulong’s work, shifts attention toward gesture, posture and attitude.

Rooted in hip-hop and street culture, the Soul Wave series explores the physical language of street dance, translating rhythm, balance and movement into sculpture.

Produced in stainless steel in an edition of 99, the work is hand-signed by the artist.
