Toumani (2026) places the human gaze at the centre of Seny’s portrait practice.

The figure confronts the viewer directly, emerging against a vivid yellow background while intense blues define the clothing. Seny builds the portrait through layers of acrylic, spray paint, pastel and oil, combining the visual language of street art with a more painterly approach to the face.

The work is executed directly on rusty metal, a support that Seny deliberately incorporates into the composition. Its weathered surface remains visible beneath and around the painted areas, introducing texture, irregularity and traces of time into the image.

Through Toumani, Seny brings together portraiture, urban culture and material experimentation, creating a direct and intensely present image of his subject.
