Mali Table (2004) extends Arman’s practice into the realm of functional design, transforming his characteristic language of accumulation into a sculptural piece of furniture.

Across the transparent tabletop, blue and black inkwells are arranged in repeated linear formations, turning an ordinary writing object into a rhythmic composition. Viewed from different angles, the accumulated objects create shifting patterns of colour, repetition and transparency.

The work reflects Arman’s long-standing fascination with serial objects and accumulation, while blurring the boundaries between sculpture, design and functional furniture.
