Circle Spin Painting (2009) is a unique work by Damien Hirst, created using the centrifugal process at the heart of his celebrated Spin Paintings.

Bands of blue, turquoise, gold, black and vivid pink radiate outward from the centre of the circular composition. As the surface rotates, the paint is propelled toward the edges, producing elongated streams of colour and a strong sense of speed and movement.

The Spin Paintings explore the relationship between artistic intervention and chance, with the final composition shaped by both the application of paint and the mechanical force of rotation. Here, the circular format reinforces this centrifugal energy, allowing the composition to expand naturally from its central point.

Executed in acrylic on cardboard, this unique work dates from 2009 and is stamped on the reverse.
