Circle Spin Painting (2009) is a unique work by Damien Hirst, created through the centrifugal process that characterises his celebrated Spin Paintings.

Vivid streaks of pink, orange, white and gold radiate across a predominantly black circular surface, producing an explosive composition driven by speed and rotation. The paint stretches outward from the centre, creating layers of colour that alternate between dense areas and sharp, energetic lines.

In his Spin Paintings, Hirst allows mechanical movement and chance to play an essential role in determining the final image. The circular support becomes an integral part of the process, transforming centrifugal force into a composition in which colour, movement and unpredictability converge.

Executed in acrylic on cardboard, this unique work dates from 2009.
