Train #3 (2018) brings T-KID 170’s graffiti language back to one of the surfaces most closely associated with the origins of his practice: the subway train.

Working directly on a model train, the Bronx graffiti pioneer covers its surface with interlocking lettering, characters and bursts of colour. The miniature format transforms the train into a sculptural object while preserving the visual energy and complexity of classic New York subway graffiti.

The work creates a direct dialogue with T-KID 170’s history in the Bronx graffiti scene, where painting subway cars played a formative role in the development of his distinctive lettering and figurative style.

Executed in mixed media on a toy train, Train #3 is a unique work from 2018, hand-signed and dated by the artist on the reverse.
