À l'attaque, on va les couper en deux (circa 1993) immerses the viewer in the exuberant, densely packed visual world of Robert Combas.

Across the monumental composition, intertwined figures, weapons, gestures and vivid colours collide in a scene charged with movement and confrontation. Thick black outlines structure the apparent chaos, while patterns and saturated colours fill almost every part of the canvas.

Created during a mature period of Combas’s practice, the work reflects the irreverent energy associated with Figuration Libre, combining references to popular imagery, comics, music and everyday culture with an intentionally direct and expressive approach to painting.

Measuring more than two metres across, this unique work has a particularly immersive physical presence and is hand-signed by the artist.
