Everything for a Reason (2016) is a large-scale painting by JonOne, built from an intense accumulation of colour, gesture and calligraphic marks.

Across the canvas, layers of blue, red, yellow, green, black and white overlap in a dense composition that retains the spontaneous energy of graffiti while moving decisively into abstraction. Repeated lines and painted gestures create a visual rhythm that gives the work both depth and continuous movement.

JonOne’s practice grew out of New York graffiti culture, where writing, repetition and the physical act of painting became central to his visual language. In works such as Everything for a Reason, these elements are transformed into an expressive form of abstraction in which colour and gesture take precedence over conventional imagery.
