Happy Accident (Rabbit) (2023) is a unique sculpture by Joe Suzuki, combining a playful rabbit figure with the imagery and material language of the artist’s Happy Accident series.
A suspended paint can appears to pour a stream of vivid pink paint directly over the figure, coating its reflective surface and transforming the accidental gesture of spilled paint into a permanent sculptural composition.
The work plays with the relationship between artistic process and finished object, turning paint itself into part of the sculpture rather than simply a material applied to its surface. Its polished, reflective body contrasts with the fluid appearance of the cascading enamel, giving the piece a playful sense of movement.
Executed in epoxy resin and enamel with a paint can, Happy Accident (Rabbit) is a unique work from 2023, hand-signed by the artist on the base.
