ARNAUD NAZARE-AGA
ABOUT
Born in 1965 in Paris, Arnaud Nazare-Aga developed an early interest in modern sculpture and architecture through regular museum visits with his parents. He was later educated within a Tibetan Buddhist community in Burgundy before training as a plasterer-molder.
He contributed to the design and execution of carved decorations for several Buddhist temples in Europe, including the Temple of a Thousand Buddhas near Autun and in Paris, where he collaborated with Bhutanese artists on three monumental Buddha sculptures.
After working across Europe and Asia, he founded PAJ’Art Studio in Bangkok in 2011, where he is now based. In 2012, he co-created the Artheline duo, developing Pop Art-inspired sculptural series such as Sumo, Hippop’Art, Whale Pop, and Goril’Pop. These vividly colored works are characterized by their playful forms and broad accessibility.
In 2015, his Hippop’Art project was presented at the Fullerton precinct in Singapore, with over 40 sculptures installed across the site. His work has since been exhibited internationally, including at Art Stage Singapore, the Venice Biennale in 2019, and Art3f fairs across Europe.
A significant strand of his practice focuses on a tactile reinterpretation of The Little Prince, conceived to be accessible to visually impaired audiences, extending the narrative into a contemporary sculptural language.
